Bed bath and Beyond – Green Products – Labels & Packaging
Sustainable packaging & labels is an important part in buying products that are safe to the environment and the world we leave to the future generations. Moreover, as consumers we should be alert that contaminates and chemicals are affecting our lives and that we are responsible for the products we consume and put in our landfills.
Using green products for your labels and packaging and placing FSC Certified or recycled products, papers and inks is a first step in helping our earth renew itself. Also, using soy or vegetable based non-solvent inks for printing (onto packaging, labels and bar coding helps our environment recycling process). In becoming more responsible about the products and packaging that we use on a daily basis and in our businesses another contaminate to reduce from the environment is PVC finding packaging & labels that are free from the polluting agents that are in PVC packaging & labels.
In addition, to labels and packaging it is a wisdom idea to use product that are free materials like PEVA or EVA are a great substitute to be placed on your products and are a great public relations campaign for your company and consumer awareness (for example Starbuck’s Corporation is a great leader in this arena).
The Model Toxics in Packaging Act (Formerly Known as “CONEG” regulates the packaging & labeling companies from placing to much lead, cadmium, chromium, and mercury that could be in our products, packaging and labeling items. Every package and label that is sold in the United State has to be certified and adhere to the Packaging Act. Anyone that breaks the law will be subjected to fines and lost of privileges in doing business in the Untied States. It’s nice it know we have laws and practices in place to protect our environment and our future generations.
Bath and body works – Beauty Labels & Packaging
The bath and body works is an 11 billion dollar industry and according to the International Spa Association about 136 million people visit a spa each year. This is 4th largest leisure trade in the United States. That’s why it’s very important that you put a lot of attention to the labeling and packaging of your products.
The branding (image) and the feel of the packaging and labeling helps the consumer remember his/hers experience at your establishment. Picking the proper beauty labels, packaging and color said a lot to your customers about attention to details and going beyond the norm. Making the customer feel that they have something special just by having it in their hands (a good example is a Tiffany box; what women wouldn’t want a Tiffany Box).
I cannot stress anymore the importance of proper packaging and labeling (also remember color, size, design and image) which can make you stand out from your competitors and make you a household name in your industry.
Bath – Great Labels for Lotions & Soap Products
Great bathhouses like the Chicago Sweat Lodge and the Russian bathhouse in Chicago use labels and packaging for their men’s only establishments. In targeting the male clientele; labels and packaging for soap and lotions most portray the feeling that the product will do its job and make guys feel refreshed and not a feeling of a spa. Portraying masculinity in a product label and packaging is important, because guys do not like the feeling at they are using a woman’s products. Never forget that in designing soap and lotion labels for men it is important to use proper color, labeling and packaging that appeal to your target market.

Good Evening!
How can I obtain a sample pack of the “green” labels? I create bath, body and food products; also some products for the home and I’m interested in using “green” labeling that are not harmful to the environment. I need round labels for small glass containers (think lip balm), labels for deodorant, toothpaste, roll on perfumes, soaps, candles and the like.
Thank you!
Thanks for the comment SaVonni. We will send samples right out. We can provide a quote with the following information:

You would like green, but are there any other colors with the green for us to print?
Will you be printing on these labels? If so, with what printer?
What is the quantity of labels you will need quoted?
With these questions answered, we can provide an accurate quote and lead time for your application.
