The slit does not go through the liner so the sheet is not cut into 2 sheets measuring 8.5 x 5.5, only the label on top is cut to that size. By doing it that way, the full sheet stays intact to run through the printer smoothly.
A full case quantity is usually packaged with 1000 Click n Ship labels in a box making a total of 2000 actual labels because there are 2 on a sheet. Be careful though. With click n ship labels, the second label on the sheet, which is the lower label, prints with the instruction and is not used for the shipment. Due to this label being wasted, in a case there are only 1000 shipments that can be performed.
The click n ship label format is used when a business has a light to moderate shipping demand. A shipping demand that is light to moderate would be in the range of 1 to 25 shipments per day. If your demand is significantly greater than this quantity, the next step would be to move up to a Zebra 2844 using Zebra labels on a roll. The reason is because laser toner and inkjet cartridges are expensive and make for a high cost finished label when using the click n ship method. Higher quantities should be run on direct thermal printers with direct thermal labels that use no ink or toner at all. This method also removes the waste by eliminating the label that is thrown away with the instructions printed on it. These labels are not click n ship labels though. They are thermal labels for these printers.
There are many other uses for click n ship labels. They can be used to just print out labels of any type using colors or images. These cannot be used for UPS, FedEx or USPS, but can make for some great fun with the kids. The labels can be used for USPS if you just use them as address labels formatting the label to print your return address in the upper left and the mailing address in the center. This method puts a professional look on letters and envelopes going in the general mail. As long as you are not using the label as the barcoded click n ship label, you can use colors and really dress up a package or label for use around the office.
